Bluespring nominated for NENnovation Awards 2020

Updated: Jan 26, 2022

Curious why Bluespring (formerly MET-support) was been nominated for the NENnovation Awards 2020? This great video, shot by De Filmmannen at Scheveningen beach, explains it all.

The NENnovation Award for customers and committee members is the award for an innovation activity strongly associated with standardization; and that demonstrates how standards are an important driver for successful development and scaling up. During World Standards Day, on October 16, the Award winners will be announced.

Applying standards is key to reducing perceived risks and to validate performance. The IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) has developed suit of standards that you can use in the development of your marine energy project.

In the MET-CERTIFIED and ENCORE projects, we have been applying standards in real-life pilot projects, de-risking the technology, assessing the performance and at the same time give feedback to the IEC on the applicability of the standards. The goal is to deliver bankable offshore renewable energy technologies that will contribute to energizing our coasts.

We do that with a wide partnership of certification bodies and engineering consultancies, like Bureau Veritas, DNV-GL, Lloyd's Register, and Artelia, test facilities IFREMER, University of Ghent and DMEC and EMEC and Technology Developers Tocardo, EEL-Energy, Oceans of Energy, Teamwork Techology, Inyanga Marine Projects, and Water2Energy. Bluespring is the lead partner and responsible for the daily project management.
